Rhythms & Tablatures
In this download, there are over 50 rhythms over the 13
pages.
These rhythms could potentially serve for a lifetime -
I know they have for me.
Here's a brief explanation of the symbols.
I'm basically using the tablature used in Bill Matthews' books,
Conga Joy & Drum
Talk It's common tab for djembe, ashiko, & conga.
The only difference is that we're using 2 measures of 4/4
time with an 8th note division whereas he uses 1 measure of 4/4
time with a 16th note division.
And we've added color coding.
THE TONES

B = BASS
O = TONE
S = Slap (tap)
THE HAND PATTERN

UNDERLINED tone symbol = Stong/dominant hand
NON - UNDERLINED tone symbol
= "Wild" (less dominant) hand
THE RHYTHM PATTERN
4/4 time signature (4 beat) = 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + /
1+ 2 + 3 + 4 +
6/8 time signature (6 beat) = 1 2 3 4 5 6 / 1 2 3 4 5 6
COLOR CODING

(Derived from the ancient chakra charts)
RED = bass = Root Chakra
GREEN = tone = Heart
PURPLE = slap = Crown
It is said that ‘We're all born with our own
vibration - mantra.
Thru drumming we can discover it.
