ADVANCED DJEMBE TECHNIQUE
There are 2 highly important, vital elements that every Djembe note has in common -
1)The fingers are NEVER bent
2)The *mcp Knuckle makes contact with EVERY Note.
(*That’s the big knuckle that connects your fingers to your hand)
Learn how to separate your Tones and Slaps 'Once and for All' - and Forever!
Let me ask you - “have you been playing Djembe for at least a couple of years - maybe even ten years - with some instruction but still not really getting that separation of your Tones and Slaps”? Not quite reaching that next level?
This Advanced Djembe Technique class I’m offering will answer all your questions and more - even in just one class. I can assess what refining you need to do within your existing technique. The rest is “push-ups” so to speak. One must spend the time to develop muscle memory - but once you get it - you’ve got it! Repeat - repeat - repeat!
AND - If you don’t Love the way your drum sounds when you play by yourself - then chances are you’re not going to play it. Not for long anyway. The only way to achieve solid technique is to practice on your own so you can hear yourself. This class will improve that so much that it’ll always be fun to play wether with folks or solo!
It’s simply about being “Mindful” when you drum. This means paying attention to your hands and telling them what to do. I have that info. This class is for those that have been playing for two years or more and with some instruction. You’ll need to know you’re Right from your Left so to speak.….
Make your Slaps Sparklier - your Tones Thuddier, and your Basses Bigger to fill any room.
See you at the Circle!
